On May 31, 2020 the Park West Town Center at 52nd and Parkside in West Philadelphia was looted. No business was spared. However, with the help of over 300 community members and staff working around the clock, the Parkside Shoprite reopened on June 8, 2020 allowing residents previously living in a food desert to once again have access to fresh food in their community.
